How to use Colorways

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a new photo for each color?
No. One photograph is the source for every colorway. You choose the garment and the color, and Colorways produces a new image with everything else unchanged.
Will the fabric texture survive the recolor?
Yes. The weave, the wash, the seams, and the way light falls on the material carry into the new color. A recolored garment reads as the same fabric in a different dye lot.
How is this different from a hue shift in an editor?
A hue slider moves every pixel in a selection, so it tends to flatten texture and spill onto skin or background. Colorways re-renders just the garment, which keeps edges clean and leaves the rest of the frame untouched.
What kinds of photos work?
Studio shots, lookbook photography, and e-commerce product images all work. Start from a clean photo of the garment you want to recolor, on a model or on its own.
